Water snake was basking on abandoned roadway near creek.
Two individuals nestled together in limestone/dolostone cobbles, just a few feet from the Huron shore of the Bruce Peninsula. Incredibly windy this day, and thus fairly cool. The wind was so loud that we almost couldn't hear each other speak out here at the shore, but conditions were apparently an aphrodesiac (or irritant, depending on what is actually going on here) for water snakes.
On Shelburne Pond, VT. One of the best places to find snakes in the state.
