This endemic gecko was found during the day in the Amani Mountain Reserve in the East Usambara Mountains. Look carefully at the underside of the tail tip to see 2 rows of scales which this species can use like the adhesive scales under its feet. Also found in this area were numerous other amphibian and reptiles species including the endemic caecilian Boulengerula boulengeri and the endemic chameleon Kinyongia tenue, and the endemic elapid, Elapsoidea nigra.
