The blue anole (Anolis gorgonae) is a small, highly threatened lizard that is found only on the island of Gorgona, in Colombia. The blue anole is the only pure-blue lizard in the world. The color does not differentiate between sexes. The male's dewlap is pure white, which nicely contrasts the blue skin. They commonly fall prey to basilisk lizards. It has been proposed that some individuals could be captured for a captive breeding program.
