Out of Ecuador's 33 species of Anoles, 20 are represented in the Ecuadorian portion of the Tumbes-Chocó-Magdalena Hotspot, including this Peracca's Anole (Anolis peraccae). Unfortunately, the region faces an alarming degree of threat, with only 2% of the original forest cover remaining.
