So upset that I wasn't able to get a picture of this one. There was about an inch of fresh snow overnight and he was beside a tree right by the road near Old Faithful. I wasn't able to stop the car before he ran off into the woods. I'm absolutely positive that it was a Snowshoe Hare though.
Several in juniper/pinyon in North Canyon, sunny warm
Alert behind EEB greenhouse
Been trying to photograph this one for MONTHS!
It was damp, slightly fogy, and 64 degrees out. I spotted 2 rabbits in the front of Rosenbrook Residence Hall in South Campus. I observed their behavior for only a few minutes until approaching people scared them away.
The brush rabbit is smaller than many of the other cottontails, and unlike most of them, the underside of its tail is grey rather than white. The upperside of the brush rabbit's fur varies from light brown to gray in color, while the underside is usually always white.
I observed the rabbit eating the stems and shoots of Green Arrow Arum (Peltandra virginica).
