Description from Wikipedia

The Long-clawed Mole Mouse (Geoxus valdivianus) is a species of rodent in the Cricetidae family found in the Valdivian temperate rain forests and Magellanic subpolar forests of Argentina and Chile. It is the only species in the genus Geoxus.
