Collected by RV Gemma while collecting squid off Menemsha. First one collected this year. Arrived in much better shape than these normally come aboard. It did have an embolus and was stuck at the surface. Our vet removed some of the air via hypodermic and we will see if it recovers. If so it has a home at New England Aquarium.

The cornetfishes are a small family, the Fistulariidae, of extremely elongated fishes in the order Syngnathiformes. The family consists of just a single genus, Fistularia, with four species, found worldwide in tropical and subtropical marine environments.
