Found an earwig on a rock near a stream. The dirt I found it in is moist and there were a few plants and moss surround the area as well. It is small, about half an inch big.

Earwig is the common name given to the insect order Dermaptera, characterized by membranous wings folded underneath short forewings, hence the literal translation of the order being "skin wings".
