Because of extreme cold and heavy wind the Lapwing seeks shelter near houses
Continuing for about a month now, probably the only time in MA history that two Northern Lapwings can be seen in one year

very distinctive with white underparts, brownish upperparts, black collar, buffy face with large blac patch around eye, line from eye to back of head and from eye down to chin, rufous undertail, crest rising from head, flew twice, large white patches on large wings clearly visible
