In the tidepools near abalone cove
At Bolsa Chica
36mm total length.
Photo scanned from 35mm slide.
Three big ones (about 1' long) found in a nearly dry small pool. Rehydrated for photos.
Seen while diving at Anacapa, Channel Islands.
Biggest I've ever seen, at least 30 cm, could probably stretch out further.
Awesome camouflage! They were everywhere!
California sea hare
Hard to ID when not in the water, but I think they are aplysia claifornicus? They were about 2-3 inches long. There were at least 50 on the beach after the storms this weekend.
- sea slug
- very low tide ... exposed tide pools
