Very late bloom found on path in a sunny meadow
Vegetation survey of Pengxi River drawdown zone; Day 5 T2; "selfheal"; with 'nertera'. this was a surprise - seeing something i knew from NZ common in lawns - way out here in middle of nowhere!
Seen a few small plant s along the mowed trail in the preserve.
white furry looking 3 inch seed pods
on stems appox. 1 foot high
Prunella vulgaris ; growing in shade under trees.
Creeping or tufted herb.
Leaves: hairy, ovate shaped with red tinge on edge or tip.
Flowers: violet; numerous in a whirled terminal cluster.
