Long leafs that look like lettuce heads. They have veins coming out of it likes leaves also. lots of them in one area, and they grow close to the ground.
These pretty little composites are common in disturbed areas.
4 and a half feet tall. Sap is milky. Stem is woody. Underneath of leaf is thorny along central vein.
Lactuca saligna is a species of wild lettuce known by the common name willowleaf lettuce, and Least lettuce. It is native to Eurasia but it grows in many other places as an introduced species, including much of North America.
