This and several other butterflies were attracted to the water in the road that was released by a water truck to lessen the dust created by construction vehicles .
Has thicker black stripes than western tiger swallowtails I've seen, but thinner than the pale tiger swallowtail. Unfortunately, it didn't stick around for more photos.
