Very strange looking spider? Within the leaf litter of large kauri. Black, red and brown. Very well camouflaged.
In a natural forest park. Spider was on a moss-covered live tree vole approx. 1 m above forest floor. Approx. thumb-fingernail-size. (This is 2 of 3 spider species observed there.)
Found under a rotting log.
found on a tree, about 4 of these were spotted. about 1cm long
I believe this is a spider because it has 8 legs..I am not quite sure what kind of spider this may be however.
