This 10" Chirolophis nugator (Mosshead Warbonnet) was quite magnificent, even though ti was stranded on some kelp during the minus tide.

This 12" fish was a new one for me. Xiphister atropurpureus (Black Prickleback)? It was moist and squirmy under a rock during the minus tide, right beside a couple of Flattop Crabs, acting just like the 4" gunnels I frequently find here. This one has the markings behind its eye like the photo in Andy Lamb. It wasn't possible to get a better photo because it writhed away.
