Description

Right after it rained hard from about 4-5:30pm, a chorus of these frogs could be heard ringing throughout the canyons. We hiked through dense juniper inclines to about 2000ft elevation where the limestone cliff/outcropping is most prominent. The frogs were spaced an average about 20ft away from each other along the outcrop. This individual was found underneath a limestone boulder. It was about 7:30pm, at which point the storm had already past, leaving about 50% cloud cover and a temperature of about 60°F. By its head size I would estimate its SVL to be about 6cm but I did not get a good look at the whole body. The following is a link to the call I recorded a few feet away from the frog;

Heard several calling in this area after first rain in an appreciable time.
