Not sure if Fowler's toad or Eastern American Toad
Palm Beach County, Florida, US
Saw two of these today
This toad has a laceration on the right side of its back because it was being eaten by a garter snake when we broke up the party. Coloration seems odd, perhaps from the stress of being eaten? Also chirped in my hands.
Fowler's toad (Anaxyrus fowleri syn. Bufo fowleri) is a species of toad in the family Bufonidae. It is native to North America, where it occurs in much of the eastern United States and parts of adjacent Canada.
