Leaf Toad (Rhinella margaritifera) near Sani Lodge, Ecuador on 2013-12-25.
Our afternoon walk lasted until after sunset. As we arrived back at the lodge, this toad was on the side of the trail.
I'm pretty sure it's a Crested Forest Toad, Rhinella margaritifera, though maybe there are look-alikes.

The South American common toad (Rhinella margaritifera; also mitred toad, in Spanish sapo crestado) is a species of toad in the Bufonidae family. It is found throughout the Amazonian South America (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela) and eastern Panama. However, it likely represents a species complex.
