This was my first time in Georgia but I think this is right.
Found underneath a rock. Temperature 70 degrees with sunny sky. Temps in the 40's the night passed drove many things under rocks. I also saw a spiny lizard under the rock next to the skink.
Time: ~3PM Weather: Sunny
This Plestiodon was on a pine tree trunk in a mainly pine forest near a salt marsh.
The (American) Five-lined Skink (Eumeces fasciatus) is one of the most common lizards in the eastern U.S. and one of the five species of lizards in Canada. Other common names include Blue-tailed Skink (for juveniles) and Red-headed Skink (for adults).
