Basking in road before running off to side...adult (I.e. Big)
A large, sleek (and fast-moving) adult - a new herp for our yard list.
Taken on day 2 of camping trip to Guadalupe Mountains National Park, at our camp site.
This Great Plains Skink was surprisingly unshy and came out of hiding three times while we were hanging around the camp site in the early evening. It even climbed up one of the tents!
Single specimen observed beneath a piece of tin.
The Great Plains skink (Plestiodon obsoletus) is a species of lizard endemic to North America.
