Mating Pair on dogbane leaf: large converging spots on elyta, head and Pronotum black, male is deeper red and smaller in size than female.
I have not gotten around to trying to ID this beetle yet, so any help will save me some time, if anyone recognizes it. It is about twice the size of a Lady Beetle.
I've noticed most things that feed on milkweed are orange, black, red, white, and yellow. By feeding on, I'm referring directly to the young eating the plant. Monarchs, milkweed leaf beetle, large milkweed bug, small milkweed bug, milkweed tussock moth, potato beetle...there's probably some I'm missing. Some of the aphids?
