Sphaerodactylidae are a family of geckos distributed in North and South America and the Caribbean as well as Southern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and into Central Asia. There are over 200 described species in the following genera: Aristelliger, Coleodactylus, Euleptes, Gonatodes, Lepidoblepharis, Pristurus, Pseudogonatodes, Quedenfeldtia, Sphaerodactylus, Saurodactylus, and Teratoscincus.
