Description

they said th Fruitcrow was with a nest near the trail. This bird is usually very shy, but this time it was common to see it flying around the trail.

they said the Fruitcrow was with a nest near the trail. This bird is usually very shy, but this time it was common to see it flying around the trail.

I think the seed it's spitting is from this plant: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/4660404

At least I saw it feeding from this fruit tree, and coming back to this other three.

Description

Its always awesome to see a cotinga, this particular species is not very abundant in the reserve, i only saw it a few times in five months working there.

The Red-ruffed Fruitcrow (Pyroderus scutatus) is a species of bird in the monotypic genus Pyroderus, in the Cotinga family, . It is among the largest Passerines in South America, though it is surpassed by another cotinga, the Amazonian Umbrellabird.
