This is the first Spotted Towhee I've ever heard singing. In central Texas they're usually gone before I get a chance to hear their song. Recording attached.

Description from Wikipedia

Pipilo is a genus of birds in the family Emberizidae (which also includes the buntings, American sparrows, and juncos). It is one of two genera of birds usually identified as towhees.
