A collection of the species found on "Firefly Hill, a small property in Washington County, Vermont. The property is around 1.5 acres and includes a field of around an acre, a steadily shrinking lawn, a house and garage and driveway, a rain garden, a small spring with high ph water flowing into an experimental 'fen restoration', a few fruit trees and berry bushes, several large sugar maples that are tapped for syrup most years, and a vegetable garden. The goal is to manage the little field for both species diversity (all taxa, focusing on native species) and for food production. Both naturally occurring and planted/cultivated species will be added, but only those that overwinter (ie. no lettuce, basil, etc).
