Illinois RiverWatch

The mission of the Illinois RiverWatch Network is to safeguard the future of Illinois rivers and streams through stewardship, education, and sound science. RiverWatch utilizes trained volunteers to collect quality assured data on wadeable streams and fosters coordination among groups involved in similar monitoring efforts.

Our presence on iNaturalist is intended to allow citizen scientists in the Illinois RiverWatch Network to contribute their observations to a wider audience, to assist each other in the identification of observed invertebrates, and to visualize their data in the context of the state-wide collection. less ↑
