Description
Large and old looking T. jourdani found washed up near somerton park, in an area with a large amount of washed up/uncovered rocks etc. last 2 photos show lumps of hardened sediment fused to the shell externally and internally suggesting is has been buried in sediment for some time? But perhaps been rolling around in the shallows for a little while recently with some fresh fine/turfing brown and green algae growing.

Description
Valve assemblage was of mixed sizes, and appeared to be of mixed ages too. Many sub-fossilised, partly embedded examples higher up the shoreline, and others appeared “fresher” and less eroded (e.g. photos 2 and 7), especially closer to shore. Perhaps the near shore examples were just well-washed by tides, with cemented sand abraded off.
Density in intertidal area approx. 2 - 8 valves per square metre.
