Giant tortoise reintroduction programme in NW Madagascar. Previously extinct in Madagascar, efforts are being made to reinsert them in their original environment. This observation is of a currently captive animal that feeds naturally but is provided with clean water and medical care, and has its territory limited. One day, hopefully, this project will result in a genuinely wild (re)population.
I know just that it is a moth, but if you can help out for the genus and species.

It was a great moment of my life to see this beautifull tree on site, with the discoverer. Those 30 remaining mature trees (15 m) are the only one existing. It is one of the rarest palm tree of the world. Some were flowering with a huge inflorescence of 6m.
We are reintroducing some in Anjajavy's reserve which is 30Km from this site.
This calf jumped ten times.
