Description
I found these digging in my yard. The weren't very far below the soil surface. I think they may be European Garden Snail eggs.
May 12 - I wasn't 100% sure these were snails, so I kept them to see what developed. They did in fact hatch into the tiny snails shown in the second photo

Description
Waterlogged, perhaps explaining the paler color. It was growing by the base of a coppiced oak and was rather large, 30 or 40 centimeters ( see second photo)
