Found fresh dead along shore. Removed most of semi-dry animal. Very few shells observed along shore. Sand river bottom nearby.

Deer shot with copper ammo. I was hoping first mammal this winter would be a Mustalid sp.
After starting to rip out feathers, the annoyance of jays caused it to fly off with the dead sharp-shinned hawk.
Flamingo diversity in the Corvallis area is surprising. I've seen orange, pink, and black individuals (see https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/38453080) but I've never seen one like this.
