Several separate tufts or clumps of strap-like leaves about 50cmH observed here in 2018 and sebsequently (see Observaton Group) under dense rawirinui canopy in regen rawirinui/podocarp forest margin.
Attempts at ID suggested invasive iris, which could not be confirmed as they did not flower during two years observation, after which all clumps were suppressed several times, by pulling off leaves, trampling and mulching. (Uprooting was not possible on any occasion).
Now observed here as short new leaves. On this occasion it was possible and quite easy to uproot several corm-like structures from the earth. It is believed the uprooting was complete, but we will contiinue to monitor the site.
