Repeated upward whistles (low to high on musical scale). Intermittent brief chittering sound and periods of silence. Mostly the consistent whistle call.
Did not see the bird.

Description
A new genus for me. A single 3mm valve found in the mud at the edge of a stormwater retention pond. I wasn’t expecting to ever find this genus here so I’m pleasantly surprised.

Description
Relict shell, right valve only, found in exposed sandbank of lowered river.
Photos 9-12 show the exterior wetted and then the shell held up to light to attempt to detect any pattern that might still be visible in the periostracum.

Description
A friend was taking a trip to the Philippines and I asked her to bring some shells back.
Interesting- I’m fairly sure it’s this species but there are zero iNaturalist observations nearby. There were hundreds of these thin-shelled scallops.
