The giant pink star (Pisaster brevispinus) can grow to 65 cm (25 in) across. 5 heavy-set arms, bulky disc and pale pink coloration. Found from south Alaska to south California, from the intertidal zone to 182 m depth. Predatory, eating clams and mussels.
