This whipsnake was foraging near a water feature at a bird photo blind that I was in. The snake drank and let me get a couple of shots then left. I do not know if this can be confirmed as "Ruthven's" from photos, but that is what I called it at the time.

Small garter snake (about 12 inches) observed in mixed deciduous-conferous bush in mid-October.
Not too far from a recent Desert Bighorn Sheep reintroduction site.
