Uncommon. Noted occasionally either as a terrestrial plants or growing from leaf litter accumulations in the branch forks of rawiri (Kunzea linearis).
Common in reverting gumland scrub. Mostly finished flowering. Occasional plants still with flowers.
Occasional dead and live specimens noted, often under stoat traps in dense gumland.
Growing on a taraire (Beilschmiedia tarairi) growing over stream. Heavily flowering.
Common on water shoots at the base of 15-20 tall virtually dead (due to Austropuccinia psidii infections) Syzygium maire. All specimens of Syzygium maire seen on this visit were either dead or nearly dead from Austropuccinia psidii.
