I've never heard this common name. It's funny!
Because the plant does look like some kind of sage at a cursory glance, especially when the blossoms are gone.
Lots of this interesting plant around.
The leaves are green above and white below. The seeds have protuberances with sticky sap at the ends to attach themselves to passers by.
