This individual followed me for a while during my ascent thru this canyon. Possibly attracted to my perspiration?

Not the best shot in the world, but it was a miracle I got any shot at all -- she kept perching in amongst a dense thicket.
Looks like Southwestern Orangetip is now considered a different species from Sara.

An ornamental tree I've been seeing a lot recently. It has disk-shaped seed pods that split open, releasing lots of small, papery seeds.
A tree with woody pods that are very angular. In cross section, they are nearly perfect rectangles.
I have no idea what it is, but it was obviously cultivated.
