Looks the the violet ruellia, but white. Does this ruellia nudiflora come in white?
Fire ants?
Was just about to hang my hammock, and noticed loads of these guys going up and down both trees I'd planned to use. Didn't relish the idea of them traversing the webbing and joining me, so decided to forego. Didn't know if they were fire ants or would otherwise bite.

Found him dead in the road while cycling and moved him to the side for easier pictures. I'm new on the snake front, so clearly tell me if I'm wrong on the ID. Seems to me much of the distinction can be made looking at the markings on the face...so I worked hard to get a pic of his, albeit somewhat mangled.
