Wine-tinted Oenobotys Moth (Oenobotys vinotinctalis), or Genista Broom Moth (Uresiphita reversalis), or something else?
I'm starting to get the gestalt of the Genista Broom Moth under my lights and can usually pick them out. This didn't look like one to me because the color is too dark and brownish and the Genistas in my hood don't have such dramatic lines and swirls on the wing. It also seemed a bit smaller than I expect, but it could just be a small one. CV suggested Genista first, Wine-tinted second, with no other suggestions. I looked around in the subfamily for moths observed in Texas but found nothing similar.
