I think this is a two-spotted bumble bee. It has dark wings, yellow hair in the vertex, a distinct black spot on the scutum which is covered in thick long yellow hair and a bit of yellow hair in the middle of the second abdominal segment.

This bee was feeding on the flowers of a type of Ajuga growing in a garden at the intersof Rosedale Road and Cluny Avenue on the Rosedale neighborhood of the city of Toronto.
