This plant did not look as if it was cultivated but sprouted randomly alongside a road. it had woody branches , alternating leaves and pinnate leaves. On some of the leaves desiccated reproductive organs were present.
I was easily able to identify this as being part of the Piperaceae family because of the peppercorns attached.

Light green leaves with a white fur like coating. Growing in a grass patch next to ivy.
Grass like. Has long showy white fuzzy ends known as plumes. Very tall at about 8 feet high. This is an invasive plant.
