while this is in Rio Grande County rather than Alamosa, the environment at this refuge is more similar to that of the refuge in the next county and only about 15 miles from the other refuge so the Alamosa check list on Odonata Central seems more appropriate

frustrated that in all the pictures I took of this small dragon none clearly showed the face or the side of the thorax... it was smaller and darker than the golden ones I have been seeing at the wetlands. To my naked eye, the spots on the dorsal side of the end of the abdomen segments appeared reddish. This was seen next to the fast moving Rio Grande.
