CV suggested a water bug! Little, smaller than 1/4 inch. Third tick that has bit me. Could not feel the first two. This felt like a sticker or scratchy stick was poking my leg.

Using pointed tweezers to grab as close to skin worked, but it came apart and I was lucky there was enough to grab to get the head out.
