Welcome back, Battarrea phalloides.
Found on underside of small rotting log
On a hardwood stump in mixed Oak/Cypress/Pine habitat
On mesquite. KOH reacts orange quickly then fades to rusty brown. White/brown when young, becoming a purple/red with age. Closeups on the fertile surface show what looks like some sort of insect remnants on various folds.
Next to east side of Dry Creek Rd. approximately 40 m north of the entrance to the Dry Creek Trail Parking Area. Lat/Lon has been corrected from those of the photo exifs.

In the side of an exposed bank next to Dry Creek Rd. about 1 meter below the highest point of the bank. Soil color is rusty, which made it difficult to impossible to judge colors of the sporocarp.
Appears to have dark gills. May have rhizomorphs.
