Cap hairy. Odor unpleasant, fishy and slightly anise. At urban forest edge near parking lot - doug fir, western hemlock, western red cedar. Small, round spores. Dried/saved.
Small black cups growing gregariously on soil and living wood/tree roots, scenes like this punctuated the trailside throughout this locality, maybe 2-3 per mile
