Stems are greenish brown, no purple. The fruit is hanging down, not up.

White-eyed Vireos (Vireo griseus) have been expanding their range northward. This one was banded during the Allegany Nature Pilgrimage (Allegany State Park, NY) on the morning of Sunday, June 1, 2014. The Pilgrimage is always the first weekend after Memorial Day.
