Despite the truely awesome comparitive info on crab spider genera at BugGuide, I'm still in the dark about this one. Probably Misumenoides formosipes or Misumena vatia, but can't quite tell which one. Where's my white line?
This little guy was pretty fidgety for a thomisid, too. He had webbing connecting a bunch of different leaves on this huckleberry bush, and he only stayed on a given leaf for 10 or 20 seconds before picking up shop and moving to another. Maybe I was spooking it.
At first glance it seemed that a large group of birds were all gulls, but when I got closer I noticed these strange-looking birds. I'd never seen them before.
