Biodiversity paragraph

Northern Hardwood Forest

Hello Amanda Melinchuk,

It’s me (Carley) and Erika, we are doing a biodiversity paragraph about the Northern Hardwood Forest. Collecting data about the biodiversity of the Northern Hardwood Forest ecosystem is important because biodiversity is one sign that the ecosystem is healthy. It shows that it’s a healthy ecosystem because having biodiversity means that it has what the plants and animals need to survive. Our ecosystem is biodiverse because it has a variety of trees and wild flowers. Also having biodiversity helps animals reproduce better. If animals can reproduce easier they can have offspring and the species can continue to survive. Biodiversity makes it so if a species gets a disease the whole Ecosystem won’t collapse. For example if there were only Maple trees in an ecosystem and a disease came along and killed all the Maple trees, the whole ecosystem would collapse.
