Pasadena Monarch Project
I've been studying monarchs and sharing my explorations with students and residents in Pasadena, CA for over 4 years now. There is a lack of information in the Pasadena area in regards to monarchs and milkweed. I've decided to take all of my scattered information from the past 5+ years and begin documenting what I can on iNaturalist.com.
Plans for the upcoming weeks in September:
Sign up classes for Journey North Symbolic Butterfly and begin teaching life cycle, identification, migration, Plant seeds with students.
Prepare for upcoming October seed library meeting. I look forward to meeting others, like me, that follow monarch life in Pasadena backyard gardens. I know there are many.
I plan to get milkweed production going now that I'm done with summer travel. Hopefully this year, I will have more success with native varieties. I'll continue with tropical because it yields the best results thus far.
I look forward to local CA travel to Ventura and Northern CA. I expect to see monarch life and plan to do a better job at documenting.
