I'm finally posting a journal again. Lots has happened since I last posted. I've been traveling quiet a bit for a student. I periodically travel between Athens, Waverly, and Dayton Ohio. I have posted some pictures from the above places. I finally was able to find time to post more pictures from my trip to Kentucky and The Red River Gorge. Most of these pictures I took in just one day on an extremely long hike. On this hike it was both sunny and rainy at various times of the day. I also just got back from a vacation to Virginia Beach. Although I didn't get many pictures on the beach, I took some awesome pictures when we visited First Landing State Park. My friends and I hiked The Bald Cypress Nature Trail. We visited the trail center prior to heading out and were given an amazing little booklet that helped us through the trail. It's contents varied from topics on "Natures Candy" to "Traveling Dunes" to "Overlooked Plants" and even "Spanish Moss". I really enjoyed comparing the plant species to ones I've seen in Ohio. It was a real treat! I would suggest hiking this trail. As a future educator, I was also happy to notice the trail center had an Educational Outreach Program. I would love to learn more about these programs and get involved with something like this as a future career!
